To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue. ... In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. -- Proverbs 16: 1, 9

It was very interesting to witness the way God work, it was so unconventional; I learned that when trouble comes, we just need to come together and worship Him and pray, and Daddy will get it done, somehow... miraculously. Never discount the power of God when you worship and prayer, He will shock you,.. -- Manson Koh's Octaves (PDF, 0.7MB)

I was looking up to God, full of thanksgiving for: friends and family for their prayer and financial support, friendship built with the staff, mission trip to Macau and Cambodia, becoming more aware of my own strength and limitation... Please pray for me for I am fearful of transitions! Remembering how I struggled in the past as I went in to Poly and previous job transitions... Pray for courage and faith to go through all these changes. -- Liew Hui Ting's Looking... up & ahead (PDF, 0.8MB)
On my way to the office, reading these words in the book Preaching with Freshness by Bruce Mawhinney filled my eyes and my heart. "Do you remember the most often-repeated command in the Holy Scriptures? 'Fear not.' The words 'fear not' or 'be not afraid' or something to that effect appear more in the Bible than any other command that God gives His children. You have a great God Who loves you more dearly than you love yourself... -- Bixia's PISTOS (PDF, 0.2MB)
Life was never boring with a batch of enthusiastic students; excited and full of energy, always ready to serve each other and eager to engage in ministry. They worked hard but also played hard. I love their youthfulness and passion for life. They are pliable and vulnerable before God so He could mould them. I saw breakthroughs in each of them; both in their character growth and a growing compassion for the lost. -- Wai Ling's It's All Happening in Cambodia! (PDF, 0.4MB)
I was looking at my pair of hands one day after my mission trip to North Thailand in June 2008. I realised this same pair of hands that once hurt others and myself, had just been a blessing. And God whispered in my heart, "It was My hands moving yours." From then on, I began to seek God whether these hands were to serve God full-time. -- Terence Koh's A Faith Venture (PDF, 0.3MB)
I used to want things to go my way... and only my way. What if no one comes? What if the youths are not enthu about reaching the lost? But this time round, God was like telling me, "Relax my dear son, I love the lost more than you do. You can never out give me." It was really a journey of my heart where I am going nearer to the place of knowing that God is in control and He knows the best. -- Adam Lee's Japan for Jesus! issue 5 (PDF, 0.7MB)

... I heard the Lord’s voice in the quietness. He spoke to me through 1 Peter 3:4, "Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." The Lord is humbling me to work on what is in my inner self which is unseen for this is what God treasures and what pleases Him. -- Tina Lee's Beautiful Solitude. July 2010 (PDF, 0.5MB)
...I continued to seek God and hear from Him about what He wants me to do and where He wants me to be after that. Even before I went for my interview to Japan, I prayed to God about what He wanted me to do for my life, whether I go to Japan eventually or not. On April 26, 2010, God finally spoke to me about all these! -- Xiao Jun's Full-time (PDF, 0.3MB)
I have yet to receive my posting so I do not know which school I will be posted to teach but my teaching will start on 13th of September. By God's grace, Yvonne found a job at NCSS (National Council of Social Service), Family Services Department, and started work on 14th July 2010. She is still adjusting to the work but she is enjoying the new scope and discovering new things. -- Johnson & Yvonne's Say Chees once more (PDF, 0.2MB) | johnsonyvonne.blogspot.com
I am fearful that we are becoming egoistic, only thinking of I, Me, Mine and Myself. As Philippians 2:3-4 said "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others." -- Peter Lee's From Peter to you (PDF, 0.4MB)
Have I not been working hard enough? Was not what I embraced the past year toil too? I conclude, far beyond managing the ministry well and dealing with the small things, my call into Campus Crusade is to build into the lives of people. I need to love them, be with them. This call into ministry is not about me but for others. -- Yeo Lijuan's Pardon the backlog [2] (PDF, 1MB)
Dinner was two types of bread, eight vegetables, very little meat, no rice, and plenty of chilli. Interesting. The men and women at our table were at first shy. But by the end of the meal, they had asked us many questions, including how old we were, what our daughter did,... even what our cats were called -- Roland & Ying Kheng's "Would you come & help us?" (PDF, 0.3MB)
Taking on the mantle of leadership the past few years has both been painful and super rewarding at the same time. But it will always be the people whom I've had the privilege to lead and work with that has meant most to me. I love them to bits -- Patrick & Jacqueline's wha'zup! (PDF, 0.8MB)
I enjoyed the singing but I struggled trying to write in Chinese. So I ended up writing in pinyin. I enjoyed the group interaction, especially with the two seekers. Now I am attending a course on the book of Romans. It is challenging but... -- Janice Chuang's My First... (PDF, 0.3MB)
Peter has never been a very religious person upfront, but through this conversation, I realized he cared about me enough to also urgently tell me about his beliefs. How about me as a Christian? Do I love people enough to share with them the truth and love of Christ Jesus? -- David Mak's Baby Steps July 2010 (PDF, 1.7MB) | mai-da-wei.livejournal.com
I remember a few years ago, a youth mentor pointed out to me that I was like a triangle amidst other circles around me. Many times, I experience frustrations because the circles do not fit readily into my triangle. However, over the years, God is slowly expanding this triangle to better fit circles in. This was exactly what I felt God doing... -- Lindy Teo's "I should be there now!" (PDF, 0.7MB)
I have passed my overseas stint (short-term internship) application and will be going to Japan! It has really been a dream come true! Our team of four staff, made up of Bixia(Team leader), Esther, XiaoJunand myself, will be going to the city of Nagoya from October 2010 to October 2011. -- Adam Lee's Japan for Jesus! Issue 4 (PDF, 445kB)
This is the 1st time an e-mentoring session has been conducted for our new staff training, Solead. The class was very attentive and a few of them commented that they found it interesting. During the training, there was a hands-on section and the 9 of them started responding to actual mails, beginning a 10-week challenge as e-mentors. -- Khoo Lay Kuan's PurpleClick - Mid Year, Looking Back (Jul 2010) (PDF, 1MB) | purpleclick.cru.sg

... when we sense a phase of our lives has run its course, we can trust that the time has come to move on to the next one. I felt this deeply once again in recent months when I finally handed in my application for a one-year overseas Stint (Short-Term Internship) to Japan after serving for eleven years in the Campus Ministry here in Singapore. -- Bixia's PISTOS (PDF, 0.3MB)
1-YEAR STINT TO JAPAN!! Yes! I have passed my interview for my application to go to Japan for one year of campus work with SCCC! This may come a little late, but I really thank you all for praying for me as I went through the interview last month! =) -- Xiao Jun's In Tune with XiaoJun (PDF, 0.6MB)
That clinched it! That is exactly why I joined Campus Crusade, to see the lost student turning to Jesus, proclaiming Him as their all satisfying Savior and Lord and to see the students living their lives all for the glory of Christ,... -- Yvonne Koh's Looking Deeper (PDF, 1.8MB)
...it's funny how I discovered that there's a special place in God where I'm depending on Him for my next breath. That I can find something to give, even when I am totally bankrupt, and it is not by my sheer strength. There is wisdom for one more project, grace to respond in love once more and so many surprise moments of fruitfulness. -- Eeleen Lin's Rooted by the river (PDF, 1.8MB)
"We struggle (with God), and that's okay," he said. Struggle and okay are not words I would associate each other with. But it was awfully comforting to hear them put together that way in a sentence. If there is one dominant emotion I've felt in these past years, it's struggling -- Fong Liling's to my wrestling father... (PDF, 307kB) | ruthliling.cru.sg
If the God we serve is a faithful and covenant keeping God, how much more should we, His people, reflect these qualities in the way we serve Him? How much more should these traits be evident in the manner we shoulder responsibilities and uphold commitments? -- Yeo Li Juan's Pardon the backlog (PDF, 1.7MB)
When I was discipling on campus, I was able to see a more direct contribution to our cause. Since serving in the operations aspect, I sometimes forget that I‟m still contributing to Movements Everywhere. On 25 May 2010, God gave me a glimpse of my contribution... -- Martha Lim's News from Martha (PDF, 296kB)
God taught me to be single-minded and stay focused to my call. It has become clearer to me each passing year that I didn't define my own calling. It was God who called me to be His child and servant. To me what is of supreme importance is what I do with what God gave me. My prayer is that my one life is for the purpose of God; to follow Him completely and to serve Him faithfully. -- Wai Ling's Highlights in May, June and July (PDF, 123kB)
In the past five years, following Jesus fully meant trusting in His goodness and providence through raising every financial need. It also meant tending the sheep lost students and disciples through sharing the gospel, and teaching them to pray, to serve, to love others. As I grow I alro leamt that following Jesus takes different expressions through different vocational focuses for different people. -- Shu Shyan's Follow Jesus wherever. (PDF, 618kB)
I was given the opportunity to teach them the basics of storytelling. It was fascinating to teach this group of students who were from the school's Infocomm club. Their affinity for computers and software was astounding. They instinctively knew their way around software that they were not familiar with. -- Andrew Yu's thru the lens (PDF, 467kB) | flavors.me
Reaching mainland Chinese and international students have always been an area of passion. As I continue to serve in SOLEAD, I am still seeking the Lord to reveal His next step/area for me to serve Him. If the Lord wills, Daniel and I hope to start a family soon :-) -- Winnie Yeo's Recounting God's Faithfulness (PDF, 743kB)
What have I accomplished so far? How have I live my life that has counted worthy of the cost? How’s my relationship with God and people that are closed to me? These are the questions I hope to take some time to ponder through in June/July -- Ray's Updates... June 2010 (PDF, 180kB)
In April, WK led a Japanese team of 7 other leaders to a leadership conference, participated by leaders of countries in the East Asia region. It was indeed an enriching time as they learn from one another. The task in the Japan ministry is still overwhelming, but, through one of the devotions, WK was reminded that God is in control and we are not serving an organization, but, God. I needed Him to mold me and use me for His Glory. -- Weng Kong & Jaine's Using manga to witness (PDF, 265kB) | homepage

'Jayna' means 'God's grace; God has been gracious or has shown favor.' We are very thankful to God for His gift of grace, and pray that her life will always be a 'psalm (诗) of His grace (恩)'. -- Chin Leng & Lisa's Birth of our daughter (PDF, 120kB)
We just came out of a busy period of teaching and marking of papers for Roland, and writing and design work for me. We also spoke almost every week on the campus, and several churches. Between June 17 and 24, we’ll be in two cities in East Asia to minister, and preach the gospel. -- Roland & Ying Kheng's In Sickness & in Health (PDF, 180kB) | blog
Knowing that God has a course for me that has been charted before the beginning of time gives great joy to me. Many are the plans in my heart as I look ahead of my future, I pray that God's purpose will be shown and accomplished. -- Tina Lee's Beautiful Solitude (PDF, 1.6MB)
We went out in pairs to share of our faith at the nearby world renowned hangout place for the youth, Yoyogi Park as well Harajuku. During our evening plenary sessions & final day celebration time, we heard many students testified of how God honored their faith as well as some who experienced victories in the midst of rejection. Please pray that the fervor to share our faith will last for the life-time! -- Patrick & Estella's National Student Conference @ Yoyogi, Tokyo | homepage
...there were many friends who flew by plane, travelled by train and by other modes of transportation to attend our wedding. There were more than 500 guests who attended our wedding. These friends came from Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, America, Korea, Myanmar, China, Sri Lanka, New Zealand Mongolia and Vietnam. We felt very unworthy to be blessed by so many.. -- Ronald & Fay's The Most Beautiful Blessing (PDF, 457kB)
April 2010
I do not know what has God intended for me in this new season, but I know that He wants me to rest, to realign our marriage to Him and to trust in Him. It is exciting too as I open my heart to explore this new beginning He has for us! Please pray for me as I venture back into the marketplace to impact the world for Him! :) -- Yvonne Chee's Road Less Travelled (PDF, 458kB) | blog
Ministry has now come to a season again as students are preparing for their exams. This period of time of the year is normally one where staff are able to do some 'stock take' of our lives and ministry, while at the same time, planning ahead of what is to come. A few of the staff and I are currently going through a one-week long course on 'Growing in Christ-likeness'. -- Excerpts from Lindy's Ministry... #12 (PDF, 597kB)
The many times when circumstances were beyond my control and I was forced to humble myself before God. The times when I see God’s power at work in the community around me: The seeker accepting Christ, the commitment of a young believer in pursuing God, the rise of a generation of godly men & women, the transformation of lives in a foreign land when they hear the truth, the change in character of my disciples and the many answered prayers of a doubting staff. -- Zhou Siming's Knowing God and Making Him Known (PDF, 238kB)
I am trusting God for many things and some of them may seem impossible. I am trusting God too to help me keep realigning back to Him as I go to and forth through my daily schedules. Pondering His mighty power refreshes my mind and heart each time I face difficulties! -- Tina Lee's For God (PDF, 238kB)
There were six youths from my church who went for this conference. After the conference, all the 4 guys shared about how God impacted their lives through the conference during my church's watch night service just after the conference. One of them said "I want to live a life for God". When I heart those words, I was so encouraged because I saw transformation in lives. It's all worth it! -- Adam Lee's Japan for Jesus! Issue 3 (PDF, 2.5MB)
As Yvonne & I were praying for God to show us His will, we became quite troubled as we were eager to hear from God. Just that morning, we came across a simple passage which said it all. "Be joyful always, Pray continually, Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thess 5:16-18). It's that simple. :) -- Johnson & Yvonne's A Silent revelation, Mar-Apr 2010 (PDF, 1.8MB) | blog
One of the most invaluable lesson I've learnt while being on the field is that ministry is all about serving and loving people; going the distance for each one and loving them in the fullness of how God sees them. It's been challenging and testing throughout, but God has shown me that my part is to stay faithful and full of faith, and he will cause the transformation in their lives. -- Desmond & Lindy's Found: The Narrow Road to Life (PDF, 408kB)
Looks like a lot of hopping in and out of airports, unfamiliar territories, and new learning curves. But we want to see Jesus. We want to keep our eyes on God’s plan of redemption for this world, and focus on His power that is at work in us "both to will and work for His good pleasure" (Phil 2:13, NASV) -- Roland & Ying Kheng's Do you see anything? (PDF, 305kB) | blog

I was inspired by Scott, the guitarist, when he shared that knowing Who the completed work should honor enabled them to hold their preferences loosely when they had differed. It was great to hear that because while we desire to produce quality compelling content, it reminded me to keep in mind the objective of honoring God as I work on getting the content ready. -- Haiks & Clydia's Work in Poh-gress, April 2010 (PDF, 336kB) | blog
Dad has been busy meeting with various leaders to find out what his next step is in SCCC. (Please pray for God’s wisdom for all involved especially dad). Mom went for her first cancer specialist appointment here and all is well. Praise God! However, she is ‘technically’ not in remission until five years of all-clear results. Thank You again for praying for our family. -- Mark & Susan's Dear UNCLES & AUNTIES (PDF, 508kB)
Amos has just returned from a week-long training of new leaders in Incheon, SKorea. He is part of a regional team overseeing a 2-year Emerging Leader Initiative (ELI) program that seeks to train and equip staff representatives from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Mongolia and Pakistan that have been ear-marked for the next rung of leadership. -- Amos & Karen's Update Nov 2009 – Feb 2010 (PDF, 222kB)
If we have got great stories but no one heard it, the story might remain in or fade away with us slowly; if we have got good news but only we heard it, the gospel would only BE TRUE within the community. -- Manson Koh's Octaves (PDF, 2.3MB)
MK2MK was a great success, too. 6 staff from various backgrounds came to lead the children program. ALL the children loves them from the beginning! I woke up at 4:45am that morning, tired and exhausted. My mom joined me. Weather reports said that it was the coldest winter morning thus far. It was definitely below 5°C. Stepping out into the cold made me think about how those people felt when they have to wake up every day feeling the cold. We had to go that early because they will be shooed out of the station before 7am when the intense morning crowd starts. -- Weng Kong & Jaine's Little Missionaries (PDF, 1.3MB) | homepage
We are grateful that our family was able to make a road trip to Kyushu for our family getaway over the year-end period! We took off immediately the morning after we hosted an annual Christmas Party (Dec 25) for our Staff Family at our house. It was the longest car ride we have ever made (more than 1000km one way! & we drove more than a total of 3000km!) -- Patrick & Estella's Special greetings to our fellow Chinese friends | homepage
I started getting a devotional email from Dayspring.com at the beginning of the year. I liked and was inspired by what and how Holley Garth wrote, and looked forward to reading the blog. There was a turning point on 21 Jan 2010's post, titled "How are you really?",... -- Lay Kuan's New Year, New Blogs | blog
One thing I have learnt and am still learning in relation to people is to let go of expectations and to love unconditionally; He has given me the freedom to love. In that, God has also taught me to love myself more and see myself as how He sees me. -- Kerin Goh's He is faithful (PDF, 2.6MB)
I was reminded there of my need to hunger more for God all over again, far beyond fruitfulness. In the words of one of the pastors who spoke about Mary and Martha, "Ministering to the Lord is good, but being ministered to by the Lord is better." -- Eeleen Lin's Life change (PDF, 1.5MB)
It has been a good five and a half years in ministry, and I find myself now at this crossroads in my life. Looking back at the road travelled, and ahead to what lies in the future. I have no regrets about the decision I made that June day in 2004 - in fact there is an abundance of things to be thankful for, too much to say in a letter like this. -- Dorothea Chow's Crossroads (PDF, 0.2MB) | blog

As they hosted us and shared with us about the ministry God has called them to, a similar request was echoed among them, "Please! Continue praying for India." So as you read this, and if God is moving your heart, consider being part of their ministry by praying for them. -- Evon Yee's New Year, New Chapter (PDF, 0.9MB)
It was freezing cold (it was minus 3 degrees C), and I felt really homesick when I arrived. But the love of the staff (one gal bought me stockings), and their instant acceptance of my teaching warmed my heart. Meanwhile Roland has been busy preparing for new class, and Julienne started work as a designer. -- Roland & Ying Kheng's Deep in December, Jumping into January (PDF, 0.6MB) | blog
Children on the streets, in villages, in schools, read the gospel tracts immediately as they received it from us. God touched my heart deeply to see the spiritual hunger in Northeast Thailand and the great need for discipleship there. -- Shu Shyan's A Call to Remember (PDF, 0.5MB)
I learnt how to wait patiently and "cease striving, and know that He is God", and was challenged to trust Him as He revealed the plan for the last day. It was also encouraging and humbling to see the students responding well. Though this was a group that I was somewhat familiar with, I was a bundle of nerves throughout! -- Desmond & Lindy's Blessed New Year (PDF, 0.8MB)
"In quietness and trust is your strength" Isaiah 30:15b (NASB). There certainly is much this year that will require me to trust God for as I learn to grow without wrestling, but with quietness of heart. Our house hunt is still ongoing as I write this and the need for our home feels more urgent with the arrival of our baby boy in April. Please continue to pray for us! -- Haiks & Clydia's Work in POH~gress (PDF, 0.9MB)
Three of us went to Beijing in mid-December to learn how to use and teach this material as well as make on-site observations. We have heard testimonies as to the overwhelming resulting benefits. We believe the Lord is leading us to adapt this material for Singapore youths and hope that that this will be both a blessing to the education community as well as a means to open doors for ministry contacts. -- Amy's News Jan 2010 (PDF, 0.2MB)
"Do I not love myself? Do I not care about my needs more than I care about others’?” It is true we often struggle with self-centeredness. However, many of us also struggle with loving and accepting ourselves in what we cannot do well. When we cannot love and accept ourselves, we are hindered from being truly satisfied in God and having a spirit of thankfulness to Him in all circumstances. -- Ivan & Chin Ai's The Spirit of Thanksgiving (PDF, 0.3MB)
I was one of the blessed ones who received the timely gift. How could I be more grateful than this—someone had to lose his precious child in order to give me life. Through it, I have a deeper appreciation of God’s ineffable love for me. -- Moses & Charissa's "I am forever grateful..." (PDF, 1.5MB)
The vacant, staring eyes of child beggars pierced our hearts. To give or not to give was a regular struggle for us. There was an air of hopelessness in their stance; many of them have resigned themselves to whatever fate or 'karma' throws at them, and live their days on the streets. The contrast with the staff we interacted with was very telling. -- Dorothea Chow's Two Cities and Blessed Twenty Ten! (PDF, 0.7MB) | blog
She kept saying Ariel was so lucky to have received her liver under the circumstances. I think she must have said the word lucky a good five to six times during a particular take. As an unbeliever, she had no other language for the miraculous deliverance of Ariel by our Lord. But I knew her account would glorify His Name precisely because she recogonized that this case was different from the rest. -- Andrew Yu's Thru the Lens (PDF, 0.6MB) | blog
