Goodbye, Uncle Sankaran!
On 15 Jan 2009, we bid farewell to SCCC's very first full-time staff whom we lovingly address as Uncle Sankaran. He had been a faithful servant of the Lord, and his humility and child-like faith is what I will miss about him. He left behind a powerful legacy of spiritual fruits that are still bearing more and much fruit even today. Some of our currently serving staff and missionaries were led to Jesus Christ through Him.
Uncle Sankaran served with us for 37 fruitful years, since 1971 when he pioneered the housing block ministry that brought the message of the gospel door to door in housing estates. His retirement in 2008 was because of health reason but that did not stop him from winning more for the Kingdom. He continued to work tirelessly on his internet evangelism ministry and at times even continued to go tracting with his wife, Sally at MRT stations. He never really retired from ministry and was constantly learning and developing new resources for his web ministry.
For the believer, death is passing from the temporal to eternity. On this day of his glorification, he meets His Savior face to face, and hears the loving words from our Master,'Well done, Sank, my good and faithful servant...welcome into my presence.' For this we rejoice with Uncle Sank, knowing that our Lord is pleased with him and that he has faithful discharged all that the Father has entrusted to him.
Like many who have been impacted by this life well lived, The leadership and staff of SCCC are honored and privileged to have been able to stand side by side with uncle Sankaran for the cause of the gospel.
